At a very young age I have always found myself being drawn to either wearing or pairing ordinary outfits with odd things. Whether that be accessorizing with an obnoxious clutch with a LBD, or a fabulous hair clip and amazing shoes that are perfectly paired with a plain outfit to give it the right amount of pop. Walking into a room and having someone notice whatever piece that I have used to accentuate the outfit I have pulled from my capsule pieces. As a moderately tall queer person, who is “curvy” by nature, I felt it only appropriate to start my own line for everyone. One that mixes masculine and feminine archetypes. I don’t feel that clothing or accessories should have a gender. Speaking of style and fashion. For the spring and summer months I am seeing a transition into a different color palette. More pastels and neutrals. Adding into what already prevalent but with a different scheme. I am also seeing a rise in bringing back a more grunge look mixed with classy vibes. Neon is big this season, so be on the lookout for that as well. Rocker tees are still in and will be staying but adding an oversized blazer and cigarette skinny with a bold pattern could be dressed up or down. When I was sitting getting ready to sketch out my designs, I was thinking about all my friends within my LGBTQ+ community and what they would want to wear and how they would want to be represented. My line is a version of myself and my community. We are no gender, just fashion and style from within. Pushing boundaries is what I want people to notice. I will be debuting my first collection the last week of June during Pride Fashion Week, with a phenomenal surprise for all to see. Shopping around town these last few weeks I have noticed that i have really noticed that I’m really liking what I’m seeing at Ruby Jane Boutique in the Highlands. They seem to have a new and refreshing take on casual women’s clothes. They had a great mixture of textiles and a decent price point. My favorite piece from Ruby Jane was:*photo* One of my cool finds recently is Patterns and Pops on Platte St. is cute and pleasantly affordable and extremely adorable.Which is where I laid my eyes on a fabulous clutch that you could dress up or down. Pairing a clutch with your shoes is always a great way to dress an ordinary look into something wonderful. *photo* Accessories are my favorite things, whether that be shoes, purses, belts, jewelry, or anything that isn't physical clothing itself can add to any outfit. That my friends, is where your personal style comes in. You can take the exact same dress or t-shirt and jeans combo and completely change the look in its entirety. Having fun with styling myself and others has always been fun for me, being a fashion designer and consultant is a dream come true and Denver is the great place to do it! We have fabulous boutiques and a fabulous community. If someone in the area were in need to hire a fashion consultant, you can find me on Facebook. Just search Ellie Cat Styles.
Welcome to my party! This is definitely where you want to be. But before we dig in, let me tell you about myself a bit first. My name is Ellie!! I am in my early 30s and I love what I have got going on and where I am at in life right now. A few things you should know about me; first I am a BIG part of the LGBTQ+ community in Denver, I have an amazing partner named Montarey and a cute little 4 (almost 5) year old! I also am very passionate about being your authentic self, which I am sure you will come to believe throughout this blog. I have been modeling since I was a little girl; however, my career took off after a bout of horrific toxic relationships from the ages of 18-30. I am also a freelance HMUA for 10+ years. I have recently taken my love for fashion into my own hands. By spreading the joy of my ability to style everyone in any genre and any size. This year my whole theory has widened when it has come to what I wanted to do with my career and which direction I wanted to go with...
